is it still worth to use paypal when there are lots of horror stories against it. paypal is sort of not siding with the seller when a customer files chargebacks.

unfortunately we dont have a choice but to still use Paypal since it is the most widely used e-currency today.

either you use it or you dont. you should be paranoid with large orders.

my account got a chargeback worth 400$. Unfortunately we cannot do anything about it.

You can file for an appeal and settle the matter. But if you sold digital goods then it is your loss since digital goods are not covered by paypal protection
